Alas, we have to do a whole pile of exams at grade 10 level over here, and that was one of my assigned texts - I think it's miraculous I even passed that exam, let alone got a C, because our literature choices were dire. It may, of course, have been being made to analyse the books to death (and my tendency to argue against illogical things - who are you to say what the author thought, have you asked them? No? They both bored me to tears and I actually threw them both in the trash. Something I never do with books.
